Basic Pancake Recipe

August 12, 2018

Hello foodies,

What is the best thing in the morning? A homemade breakfast with a loved one! Not only are pancakes super easy to make, the ingredients are (almost!) always in your pantry and fridge.

Top 'em with syrup, berries, homemade whipped cream, or just put an egg on it!

Basic Pancakes

Yields: 10 medium pancakes (make 'em as big or small as your heart desires)

Equipment needed: Medium non-stick skillet, heat safe pastry brush, mixing bowl, whisk, spatula, measuring cups/spoons

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

  • 1/3 cup white sugar

  • 2 egg

  • 1 cup milk

  • Butter for cooking pancakes (approx. 1-2 tablespoons)

Directions:

  • In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients:

    • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

    • 1 teaspoon baking soda

    • 1 teaspoon baking powder

    • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

    • 1/3 cup white sugar

  • In a small bowl, whisk together:

    • 2 egg

    • 1 cup milk

    • Add to dry ingredients

    • Slowly stir with a spatula

    • If it is too thick, add more milk. If it is too thin, add more four

    • The batter should look like thick gravey

    • Heat a non-stick skillet for medium heat; Brush skillet with butter; Pour 1/4 cup of the batter into the skillet

    • Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip it like you mean it! Cook the other side

    • Eat and enjoy!
