Streusel is universal in the baking kitchen. Why? Use it for cookie bar crust (and toppings!), pie topping, coffee cakes, or top it over your favorite ice-cream. Want to mix it up a bit? Add more nuts, dried fruit, or different warm spices to it.
Basic Streusel Recipe:
Yields: 1 1/2 cup; Enough to top one 9 inch pie or coffee cake
Equipment needed: Standing kitchen mixer with paddle attachment, measuring cups/spoons, spatula
Add all ingredients in a standing kitchen mixer with the paddle attachment
Mix on low speed for 2-3 minutes or until it looks crumble-y
Store in fridge or use immediately.
