5 ingredient recipe: Bread pudding for 2

Hello fellow foodies!

 

A new recipe series added to Sweetness in Seattle blog will be called "5 ingredient recipe.' A dessert recipe that will only have 5 ingredients. Some pre-made, some not, all 110% delicious. 

Oh why? Who doesn't want a fast and easy sweet recipe to whip together for a last minute dinner party? Or when you are craving a homemade treat? Or when you are baking with a little one?  These 5 ingredient recipes are meant to be funny, simple, and tasty! 

 

 5 ingredient Bread pudding for 2

Oven: 350 degrees F

Time: 30 minute

Equipment needed: 2 small ramekins, whisk, mixing bowl, measuring cups / spoons, deep dish pie plate (for water bath)

 

Your 5 Ingredients:

1 cup cubed, stale white bread

1 egg

1/2 cup milk

2 tablespoons white sugar

1 tablespoons SunSpire carob chips (don't have 'em? Feel free to substitute regular chocolate chips)

 

Directions:

  • In 2 small ramekins, place 1/2 cup cubed stale white bread in each ramekin.

  • In a mixing bowl, add:

    • ​1 egg

    • 1/2 cup milk

    • 2 tablespoons white sugar

    • 1 tablespoon carob chips

  • Pour custard mix evenly over stale bread 

  • Fill deep dish pie plate half way with water. 

  • Place the 2 ramekins in the pie plate.

  • Place entire pie plate in oven.

  • Bake for 30 minutes or until nice and firm.

  • Enjoy! Eat it with someone you care about. Or by yourself!
