1 - Bowl Baked Oatmeal Bars! Oil & butter free!

Happy new year foodies,


After a month of sweet holiday treats, drinks, and meals, January tends to be a month of, well, sweet-less. Does it really have to be a sweet-free month? Nah, not with these super easy baked oatmeal bars. What are they exactly? Everything you want in a simple oatmeal breakfast (or quick snack). 


Perfect for your morning commute, after noon tea, or a fast lunch, these oatmeal bars are simple to make... and eat. Plus, they are oil and butter free and sweetened with maple syrup.






1- bowl Baked Oatmeal Bars

Oven: 350 degrees F

Time: 30 minutes total 

Pan used: 8 in x 8 in square, greased and parchment paper lined 


Equipment needed: Large bowl (Standing kitchen mixer with paddle attachment can also be used), spatula, measuring cups/spoons


Ingredients needed:

  • 4 cups oats

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt

  • 2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 4 oz unsweetened applesauce

  • 1/2 cup cold coffee (if you don't have coffee on hand, use all milk)

  • 1/2 cup milk 

  • 2 eggs



  • Dump all ingredients in a large bowl

  • Mix with a spatula until combined

  • Pour into baking square

  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick (or paring knife) comes out clean

Add - in options:

  • Raisins

  • Dried fruit

  • Chocolate chips

  • Chopped nuts

  • Coconut flakes
